Cantabria has been honored with the privilege of being the host for the XIV FIPS-Mouche EUROPEAN FLY FISHING CHAMPIONSHIPS, 2008. 

The dates of celebration of the championship from the 12 to the 18 of May of the 2008

Cantabria is located in the north of Spain, we live in contact directly with the nature, it is one of the places most beautiful of this country, it is rounded  by high mountains, deep valleys and more of all, many rivers with a lot  of autochthonous trouts. 

We open our doors so that you, all, can enjoy  the marvel landscapes, the valleys and regions of Asón, Pas and Cabuérniga, and the quality of the waters of their rivers as well as the warm of the people and the history of their towns. 

It is a pleasure to welcome to all competitors and accompanying persons, wishing all of you to expend an unforgettable days and that this remember will make you to come back any time to this land which will receive you with open arms.  

:: The Cantabrian rivers.

The Cantabrian rivers are short, fast and little mighty; they save considerable slopes when being the sea next to its birth in the Cantabrian mountain range.

Their routes usually are perpendicular to the coast, if we excepted the Ebro river, and have a more or less persistent volume throughout all the year motivated by generally constant precipitations.

Even so, this he is little (20 ms ³ /s annually) in comparison with other rivers of the Iberian Peninsula. The rapidity of their waters, motivated by considerable slopes of the routes, causes that they have a great erosive power, forming fitted valleys in form of V characteristic of the Cantabrian Cornice.
